Team CS Energy

Be inspired by CS Energy's team fundraising efforts

Meet CS Energy

For CS Energy, the Brisbane to Gold Coast Cycle for Cancer isn't just a bike ride—it's a profound statement of solidarity and hope for people affected by cancer. Since 2021, the event has become a much anticipated, annual placeholder in their diaries.

At the heart of CS Energy's participation lies a deeply personal connection to the cause. It was the courageous journey of their former CEO, a cancer survivor, that initially spurred the company's involvement. Today, they honour not only his journey but also a first-time rider and colleague who is a cancer survivor.

“Our team is riding for everyone who has been impacted in some way–whether that be through their own diagnosis, caring for a loved one through the cancer journey, or in memory of someone who has passed away from having it.”

With a 15-member strong team, CS Energy's participation isn't limited to seasoned cyclists. Their invitation extends to all employees, no matter the level of experience–from avid cyclists to first-time riders, and even having staff from their Regional Queensland power stations travelling to Brisbane to participate and join in the shared experience.

As the 2024 event draws near, the team's motivation burns brighter than ever, fuelled by personal stories, company camaraderie, and a shared commitment to making a difference.

Having secured the title of highest corporate fundraiser in 2023, the team are planning to surpass their previous record, setting their sights on exceeding the remarkable $12,800 they raised last year. Their strategy is simple yet powerful: harness the generosity of their 600-strong workforce, amplify the impact through matching employee donations, and leverage their industry network to garner support far and wide.

“We’re also fortunate to be a part of the greater energy industry in Queenslandmany of our industry colleagues support us. Our support network has always been strong for the Brisbane to Gold Coast Cycle for Cancer.”

Cancer, CS Energy offer a resounding endorsement. Beyond the thrill of the ride is a bonding and fun experience—one that unites colleagues and leaves an impact on those who partake.

“There’s nothing like seeing your colleagues from right across the business step up to represent your company to support a worthwhile cause that nearly everyone has been affected by.”

Their advice to corporate fundraisers? Embrace creativity, tap into your company's resources, and start early—the journey to success begins long before the first pedal is pushed.
