We are giving participants more space at the start line and on course as the event grows!

See below the start times based on whether you chose to walk, jog or run.

There will be staggered wave times for each category (runners, joggers and walkers).

Start line

The start line is located on Vulture Street at South Brisbane, near Mater Private Hospital. Access is available via South Bank Parklands and Grey Street.

Travel

Public transport

We have included FREE public transport for all participants on all Brisbane Transport Buses and Queensalnd Rail Trains on Sunday 9 March 2025 up until 4pm.  

Your ticket is your 2025 IWDFR participants bib and/or 2025 Sea of Pink shirt.

Additional event special trains will be in operation.  Further details will be provided closer to the event.

All trains will be arriving in at South Bank train station.

Why not walk or ride to the event? Bicycles can be secured at public bike racks at South Bank, in the Botanic Gardens and surrounding streets.

Changed traffic conditions

There are a number of changed traffic conditions in place during the event, including scheduled road closures (these will be released in February).

Please plan ahead.

T-Shirt size swap

We will have a t-shirt tent open on Sunday 9 March at the start line on Vulture Street. Sizes are limited, so while we'll do our best to help you find your size, it's best to come down early to avoid disappointment. 

Baggage tent

We will NOT be offering a baggage tent at the event.
 
We advise our participants:

  • Only bring what you need
  • Ensure any items are small and can be safely carried on course
  • Water is accessible at water stations on course and the Hydration Station at the Finishers' Village

Finishers' Village and competitions

Enjoy the beautiful City Botanic Gardens, celebrating your efforts with the whole family after the event. Grab a coffee and bite to eat, and check out the amazing competitions and activities provided by our partners.

Grab the latest pink merchandise at the Mater Chicks in Pink merchandise stall, with all proceeds helping to make a difference for women with breast cancer.

Tribute Wall

Are you running or walking in memory of a mother, sister, daughter, aunt or friend? Are you taking part to support the 57 women* diagnosed with breast cancer each day? You can honour your special someone during the event and at the Tribute Wall in the Finishers' Village.

Wear your tribute card during the race, and when you reach the Finishers’ Village, share why you are part of the Sea of Pink on the Virtual Tribute Wall.

Water stations and toilets

Hydration Station

Bring your refillable water bottle and quench your thirst at the Hydration Station in the Finishers' Village.

Don’t want to run with a water bottle? No worries, there will be compostable cups available at the station.

Located on course at Queen Street and River Terrace.

Toilets

Portable toilets will be located in the Start Line and Finishers' Village. Additional toilets are available on course.

Wheelchairs and prams

If you have a pram, stroller or are in a wheelchair, the 5km walk is the most suitable wave for you.

Elite wheelchair athletes please contact the team on 1800 440 155 so that we can ensure you are in the appropriate category.
