Event update

Brisbane City event cancelled

Due to the recent severe weather and flooding across Brisbane, the RACQ International Women’s Day Fun Run event in Brisbane City will not go ahead  this Sunday (6 March).

I’m sure you share the disappointment with us, but our focus is to keep you safe. With clean up and recovery efforts promising to extend across the weekend we’re unable to deliver you the event you know and love.

BUT WAIT… IT’S NOT OVER!

You can still join the Sea of Pink across Australia by participating in our virtual event, Fun Run - Your Way (after all, that pink T-shirt is raring to go!)

Your entry has automatically been transferred to Fun Run – Your Way. So, you can still walk, jog or run 5KM ‘Your Way’ in your local area where, and when, it is safe to do so.

To support many in our community affected by these floods, we are extending the Your Way virtual event so you can complete it anytime between Sunday 6 March - Sunday 13 March.

If it is safe to do so, plan a 5KM route in your local area, deck yourself out in your SEA OF PINK T-shirt (and additional PINK attire!) and take on the challenge anytime up until Sunday 13 March.

Come together as a group of friends, with your family or do it solo. You might even like to count your steps should you find yourself in the mud army!

You can post your progress and take part in the virtual experience through your fundraising dashboard – it will be live from 5AM AEST on Sunday 6 March.

No matter where you are you can still be part of the Sea of Pink as it makes waves across Australia, from the safety of your own neighbourhood.

Despite the cancellation of the Brisbane event, we can’t forget what’s at its heart – giving hope to women with breast cancer. We can still deliver on that promise together; just in a different way to how we had planned.

Thank you for your support. Stay safe over the days ahead.
