Finishers' Village and competitions

National Storage baggage tent

The National Storage baggage tent is available to store your bags during the event. To use the baggage tent please consider the following:

  • Store items in a bag that closes, so your baggage tag can be secured onto it.
  • You must show your Race Bib to collect or access your bag.
  • DO NOT leave valuables or money in the baggage tent.
  • Organisers cannot take responsibility for damage and/or theft of any items left in the baggage tent.
  • Do not bring large or heavy bags—space is limited.
  • Only bring what you need.
  • Pack a refillable water bottle that you can use at the RACQ Hydration Station once you finish the course.

RACQ Tribute Wall

Are you running or walking in memory of a mother, sister, daughter, aunt or friend? Are you taking part to support the 53 people^ diagnosed with breast cancer each year? You can honour your special someone during the event and at the RACQ Tribute Wall in the Finishers' Village.

Tribute cards are available at the Tribute Wall, at Race Kit Collection, or posted in your kit if you let us know during registration.

Wear your Tribute Card during the race, share your message on the Tribute Wall, and let everyone know that in our sea of pink, ‘We Walk As One’.

Public transport

The start and finish line are located close to bus and train stations.

Participants receive FREE public transport on all Qld Rail trains and Brisbane Transport buses on event day until 3pm.

Please note: Ferries and city cats are not included in the free public transport due to capacity reasons.

Car parking

Many of the city car parks have sold out in advance but it is worth checking the Secure Parking website for the latest availability.

Secure Parking are offering participants $10 all day parking at selected car parks on Sunday 8 March 2020.

South Bank car park are offering participants $2 parking on race day morning on Sunday 8 March, 2020. The discounted rate of $2 is available only between the hours of entry from 5 am and exit by 11.30 am. To obtain the discount, the promo code 'Mater' must be entered into the voucher box under the date. If a participant stays after 11.30 am, they will be charged the applicable casual rate from the time of entry. This offer is only available to the first 600 vehicles. The discount is available for purchase via this online booking system only.

Pedal and feet power

Why not walk or ride to the event? Bicycles can be secured at public bike racks in the Botanic Gardens and surrounding streets. Please note, bicycles cannot be stored in the Baggage Tent due to space restrictions.

Changed traffic conditions

There are a number of changed traffic conditions in place during the event, including scheduled road closures. Please plan ahead.

Water stations and toilets

RACQ Hydration Station

Bring your refillable water bottle and quench your thirst at the RACQ Hydration Station in the Finishers' Village.

Don’t want to run with a water bottle? No worries, simply leave your water bottle with your bag in the National Storage Baggage Tent.

Located on course at Merthyr Road, Thornton Street, The Cliffs Boardwalk, Botanic Gardens and in the Finishers' Village.


Portable toilets will be located in the Finisher’s Village. Additional toilets are available on course at:

  • Wilson’s Outlook Reserve New Farm
  • Kangaroo Point Cliffs shared path (at Thornton Street)
  • Riverlife, Kangaroo Point
  • Lower River Terrace (Goodwill Bridge end)
  • Captain Burke Park

Course safety

We want the event to be fun and safe for everybody. Please ensure you follow the below safety procedures:

  • Bikes or scooters are not permitted on course.
  • Listen for announcements and follow directions from event officials.
  • Only go to the start line when directed by officials.
  • Walkers to remain behind runners to allow them an unobstructed start.
  • Runners with strollers should assemble at the back of their designated zone (check out the precinct signage if you’re not sure where to go).
  • Marshals will also be around on the day to direct you to the correct assembly zone.
  • Keep LEFT at all times unless passing.
  • Runners who find they need to stop or walk, please move to the left and be mindful of other participants running behind you.
  • We strongly recommend headphones are not worn during the event so you can hear and fully understand all special instructions and announcements.
  • First aid will be located on course and at the Finishers' Village.

  • Top three highest individual fundraisers
  • Highest fundraising corporate team
  • Highest fundraising friends and family team
  • Highest fundraising school team
  • 1st, 2nd and 3rd place overall–male and female

Place getters for other categories will receive their prize by post.
