There’s no doubt that cycling is a physical challenge, so to help ensure you’re in fighting form we’ve put together some handy training guides to ensure you’re in tip-top shape for the ride.

Join our weekly Wednesday Smiddy River Loop

Every Wednesday at 5.30 am we roll out from Adam Smiddy Park, Park Road, Milton, for a 40 kilometre river loop ride, and returning by 7.00 am for the obligatory post-ride coffee.

Everyone is welcome to come along. We roll out in multiple groups to suit a variety of speeds and abilities.

Monthly training rides

As a member of the 2020 Mater Bottlemart Smiddy Challenge peloton, you’re invited to attend our exclusive training rides. All Smiddy training rides are supported, with varied distances and terrain to help you get a feel for the Smiddy experience and riding style before the big day.

Two-day training weekend

One weekend in July, we host a two-day training ride where you’ll be joined by fellow Bottlemart Challenge riders and road crew, to cycle 300 kilometres from Brisbane to the beautiful Scenic Rim. The ride is split across two days to allow for an overnight stay.

This ride is fully supported and provides participants with a great sample of Smiddy life on the road.
