Why I Tri
I've FINALLY committed to being part of Team Smiddy at the 2020 Noosa Triathlon Multi Sport Festival after talking about for a year!
That means in November, I'll be taking on a 1500m swim, 40km ride and 10km run! Yes, I'll be pushing my body to the limit and hoping I dont drown in the water, fall off the bike or trip on run because we all know how clumsy I am.
Why am I taking on this challenge?
Because I'm crazy and.......
Because I'm committed to the long, hard road to fight cancer.
As part of my challenge I'm aiming to raise a minimum of $5000 to fund ground-breaking research at Mater into the causes, prevention and treatment of Melanoma cancer.
And this is where I need your help.

I Did My First Ever Tri!Wednesday 12th Feb
Well it’s official...I finished my first ever triathlon! Ther nerves definitely kicked in as I was waiting to start but once I hit the water I was off, until I got to the run and my legs were like cement. I shuffled my way through the run and manage to get it done thanks to the old couple sitting on the park bench cheering me along. It was an awesome experience and now I can’t wait to do another one.
Thanks to Sid for cheering me on along the course and Logan for being my sideline cheerleader.Share
My First Tri - Pre RaceFriday 7th Feb
Well here goes nothing....
Sunday will mark my first ever triathlon - rain, hail or shine! With the monsoonal rain that is predicted it looks like I will be swimming my way through all three legs of the race at this stag, lucky swimming is my favourite!
A little bit of encouragement from my awesome work team definitely gives me hope that I will finish it. Thanks Simon Opps - I mean Simone!
Watch this space for an update to see if I swim or sink on Sunday.
