Why I ride
In May, I’ll be taking on the Far North Queensland Smiddy Challenge. Cycling up to 680 km over five days (I know, I’m sore just thinking about it).
Why am I taking on this challenge?
I am doing this ride for Tash and Ben. Ben died of aggressive melanoma on 29th November 2020. Tash is my niece and her world has fallen apart. She saw her future with Ben, so not only has she lost her soulmate but she put every ounce of her being into being there for him until he died.
So I want to make a difference for Ben, for Tash, for all those living with cancer and the loved ones supporting them. This effort is for them. It's also to be an example that life is still out there waiting for you, Tash. Grab it with both hands!!
As part of my challenge I’m aiming to raise valuable funds to support the work of Mater Research—Mater’s world-class research institute that’s investing in some game-changing work into the causes, treatment and prevention of cancer.
And this is where I need your help.
