V Grimm is over the line!

We did it, what an awesome experience.

You all helped me to get over the finish line and in perfect addition I made it to the line in Noosa, too.

And a great day for funding of essential cancer research, too.

Thanks, All. Totally happy.

All Systems Go!

I could really have done without the Covid induced training break, but training restart has worked ok. Only a few days to now and all Systems are Go!

I am really stoked that I can do this to help fund critical cancer research.

I am ready to do my part, please help me doing your part by supporting my efforts with a generous donation!

Post Covid Restart - This will be interesting!

Two weeks down time after unfortunately Covid caught up with me. These were a few days I would not wish on anybody. Let’s pull together and help Mater to improve the lives of people with an Cancer through important research.

Five weeks left to get race fit and fund further cancer research!

9 1/2 Weeks

Just under ten weeks left to go and to get ready for the 2022 edition of the Noosa Tri! Getting exciting. And just clicked over 1,000 training kilometres.

I am attempting my first ever Tri in support of Mater Foundation and Smiling for Smiddy. Let's do this together and you can easily help me with a donation to support important cancer research!

Training Stepping back Up!

Back close to a full training week with 3 Swims, 3 Rides and 2 Runs. Total of 143km and 9.5 hours of good suffering for a good cause!
Specifically proud of the 5800m in the pool this week!

3 Swims, 2 Rides, 1 Run

Stepping the weekly training back up closer to the target level, but could still improve on consistency over the next few weeks. Total volume in the week of the 6th of June was 5 hours 45 minutes and 80km covered.

Swim Training nailed, run and bike not so much.

A further step down from last week with one run but no rides clocked this week of the 30th of May. Reality of a busy life taking a toll this week. But all three swim sessions nailed!

Funny thing, the one run I managed to do felt like a nice run, and not like the total armageddon of previous runs! Maybe there is hope for the run leg.

Total of 11km and 4hours 10 minutes of training still maintained this week. This needs to step back up again.

Flue hits but Swimming focus maintained!

This week of the 23rd of May the training did take a bit of a hit due to some sick days. One run, one ride but all three swimming sessions maintained for a total of 41km and 6 hours and 6 minutes of training.

Stepping up the Training for a great cause!

Bit behind with my training updates. The week of the 16th of May I managed to step up the training a bit to a total of 105km and 8 hours and 10 minutes. The weather even permitted some IRL cycling.
Through Covid and now the wet weather a lot of the riding training has gone indoors or virtual. So In Real Live or IRL rides are becoming a noteworthy thing! And some nice views along the way.

Help Me to Help a Great Cause!

96km and 8 hours of Training last week. 5.1km in the Pool, 20km of Running and 70km on the bike.

Great start to help a good cause. Please help keeping up my motivation with your generous donations!

Specifically proud that I managed a 400m non-stop swim on Sunday! Big step up from barely being able to finish a 50m lap earlier in the year!

I can’t really swim, so that is Why I Tri!

You too can help me overcome my fear of swimming and support ground-breaking cancer research at the same time.

I've committed to being part of Team Smiddy at the 2022 Noosa Triathlon.

That means in October, I'll be taking on an Olympic distance triathlon. That's a 1500m swim, 40km ride and 10km run!

In the moment I still get panic attacks in a 50m pool, that will need some further work :-).

Every $100 will get me closer to the 51.5km I will need to cover in October and my goal of raising $5150 for cancer research.

Why am I taking on this challenge?

Because I'm committed to the long, hard road to fight cancer.

As part of my challenge I'm aiming to raise funds towards ground-breaking research at Mater into the causes, prevention and treatment of various types of cancer.

And this is where I need your help.

Will you support my fundraising by making a donation today?

Thank you to my Sponsors
