Not the First, Not the Last

Please help me make an impact for women with breast cancer

In July 2024, my life changed in an instant.

What started as finding a single lump quickly became the devastating news that I had ten tumours. In the months that followed, I underwent a bilateral mastectomy, 16 rounds of chemotherapy, and 15 rounds of radiotherapy. Like so many women diagnosed with breast cancer, I faced uncertainty, fear, and the challenge of rebuilding my life.

Throughout that journey, Mater Chicks in Pink became so much more than a charity to me. They provided practical, compassionate support when I needed it most, support that made an incredibly difficult time just that little bit easier. It wasn't about grand gestures; it was about helping me navigate the everyday realities of breast cancer with dignity, care, and the reassurance that I wasn't facing it alone.

That's why I'm hosting my third Not the First, Not the Last High Tea this October during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

What began as a way to give back has become something deeply personal. I know firsthand how life changing the support of Mater Chicks in Pink can be, and I believe every woman diagnosed with breast cancer deserves access to the same care and compassion that helped me through my own journey.

This year, we'll welcome 200 guests as we come together to celebrate strength, community, and hope while raising vital funds for women facing breast cancer across Queensland.

Whether you're joining us on the day or supporting from afar, every donation helps ensure more women receive the specialist breast care, practical recovery support, and survivorship programs that Mater Chicks in Pink provides.

Your support means more than I can put into words. Not only to me, but to every woman who will hear the words "you have breast cancer" and discover that she doesn't have to face it alone.

Together, we can make sure she's supported every step of the way.

Thank you for helping us make a difference.
