I would like you to review a concept I call "IMPACT TAXATION". I proposed first to "Kevin O7" & recently revamped for Jim C & Community Ind (productivity roundtable) - I am not an economist i am a designer and advocate of systems change. The concept is based on the principle that businesses & ind have too narrowly been focused on economic returns & ATO on taxing economic returns to the detriment of positive social and nature returns. My paper proposes a taxation solution loosely based on the Training Levy of the 1990's if you actually demonstrate social and nature positive returns from your household (ind) or business you deduct and pay less tax because you are arguably doing the repair and social impact work via employment and procurement that otherwise falls to government and philanthropy to repair. It would require Treasury to have a reference source similar to the UK Greenbook. I'd be very interested in your insights. If you'd like a copy of the framing paper i wrote, send me your details. We would love to nominate the topic of the Economics of Wrongful Conviction. I am an exonoree with 3 decades of experience in working to change systemic causes of wrongful conviction. I volunteer with Amnesty International and the Innocence Project at Griffith Uni to create needed change.
