Check Up Week

This week is check up week for me 🫣
Every time I sit in the waiting room I look around and wonder whose day is going to be ruined with life changing information. 
I know what that feels like.
I was lucky that early detection and state of the art facilities spared me what could have been a much rockier road for me and my family.

If you are in a position to do so, please consider donating to this cause so that other women will be able to benefit from the life saving research, excellent technology and imperative support that this event raises money for. Research for breast cancer also benefits research for several other types of cancer too. It is all so important!

I’m part of the International Women’s Day Fun Run!

It's that time again friends - and together with my pals at The Outdoor Club, I'm raising funds to support women with breast cancer now and into the future. 

This event was what prompted me to get checked out back in 2023, which led to my own diagnosis a few months later. 2024 I was back with one boobie, but happy to be here. That year, Breast cancer took a truly special lady from us, which made me want to kick some fundraising goals in 2025. In 2025, I was back with two half inflated boobies after stage 1 reconstructive surgery and a big fundraising goal. We smashed the goal, but unfortunately, cyclone Alfred smashed us, and Fun Run was cancelled, but we made out own fun around the street of Graceville a few weeks later. This year, I am back with my aerodynamic new assets and a sense of gratitude to be here, to be well, and to be surrounded by some incredible supporters! 

I saw first hand, how events like Fun Run can support women with breast cancer, by providing hands on support through nurses and counsellors, medical items like bras and wigs, and also how lucky we are to have so much research on the subject, but how it is also never enough!
