I’m leaving my house and exercising!
I am taking on this great personal risk (of rolling my ankle) in order to help raise funds to support women with breast cancer now and into the future.
By making a donation, you can play a part in improving treatments and care for women diagnosed with breast cancer. You can also take great joy in imagining me getting into the following bits of running-related trouble:
- Tripping on an apparently flat section of pavement.
- Talking the ears off the person next to me.
- Feeling like I need to throw up but not being able to.
- Having my skin turn beetroot red. Any part of my exposed body that I haven't managed to coat in suncream will glow bright enough to function as a traffic light at the right distance.
- Getting blisters large enough that they start to get their own blisters.
- Fantasizing about stopping and lying down whenever I see a comfortable looking patch of grass or asphalt.
- Sweating suncream directly into my eyes!
You’ll also be supporting world leading research that focuses on improving survival rates and working towards a world where ALL women diagnosed with breast cancer survive.
As little as $37 can contribute to invaluable research and push forward the state of medicine. Please, if you possibly can, will you donate today?
Those of you who know me, know that I sweat a lot. When I exercise it is nearly indistinguishable from having buckets of water poured onto my head. By the end of the run, I will also be wishing for buckets of water to be poured over my head. Preferably with chunks of ice. If you want to help me achieve my goal of having ice poured over my head, for every $50 dollars raised, I will buy a bag of ice and add it to an ice bucket for myself. I think if I manage to cross the $500 mark, it will be enough ice to justify the creation of an ice bath. I am happy to commit to this until I run out of space in my car boot for ice to go. Thanks!
So far this year I have helped raise money for:

0
mastectomy
bras

0
