About Mater Giving Day

What is Mater Giving Day? How does it work?

add remove

Mater Giving Day is about ensuring care is there every hour and every day, for people when it matters most.

Every day, more than 1,800 people turn to Mater for care. They arrive at all kinds of moments — from the hopeful to the uncertain — needing compassion, expertise and reassurance.

Mater Giving Day brings supporters together to strengthen the care Mater provides all year round, including in regional and community‑based services, so more people can receive treatment closer to home, surrounded by family and support.

On Thursday 25 June 2026, donations made on Mater Giving Day are tripled, helping extend the impact of your generosity and support the care people rely on every day.

How can I support Mater Giving Day?

add remove

You can support Mater Giving Day by making a donation.
Your gift helps ensure Mater’s teams, equipment and services are there every time someone needs care — whether that’s in a large hospital or a regional service closer to where people live.
On Mater Giving Day, every donation is tripled thanks to generous matching donors. For example:

A $50 donation becomes $150
A $100 donation becomes $300

You can also leave a message of support or gratitude for the doctors, nurses, researchers and care teams who provide care every day across Mater services.
Donations can be made online or by calling 1800 500 422. You can also help by sharing Mater Giving Day with your family, friends or local community.

How does my impact get tripled? What does that mean?

add remove

Every donation made on Mater Giving Day will be tripled thanks to our matching donors–a group of passionate philanthropists determined to motivate and incentivise our wider community to give more.

These matching partners will chip in two additional dollars for every dollar you give. For example, if you donate $50, Mater will receive $150.

About your imapct

Where do the funds go?

add remove

Funds raised through Mater Giving Day help support care that’s needed every day, across Mater services.

Your generosity helps:

  • Provide critical and lifesaving medical equipment.
  • Strengthen programs that allow more people to receive treatment closer to home.
  • Support research, education and services that improve patient outcomes.

Importantly, this includes expanding access to care in regional communities, helping reduce the need for people to travel long distances for treatment and allowing them to stay connected to their homes, families and communities.
Because when someone needs care, where they live shouldn’t limit the support they receive.

What else can I do to support Mater?

add remove

Beyond Mater Giving Day, there are several options to support Mater.

They include buying a ticket in a Mater Lottery, signing up for monthly giving, leaving a Gift in Will, joining a community event or volunteering.
