I am taking on Noosa Triathlon 2026
I’ve committed to being part of Smiddy at the 2026 Noosa Triathlon.
In November, I’ll be taking on an Olympic distance triathlon — a 1,500 m swim, 40 km ride and 10 km run. Which, honestly, sounded like a much better idea when I signed up.
I’ve always enjoyed challenging myself and seeing what I’m capable of, both physically and mentally. But this one means more than just pushing through sore legs and questionable life choices.
A mate of mine passed away far too young from cancer, and it’s a reminder that this disease doesn’t discriminate. It can affect anyone, at any age, and it changes lives in ways you never expect.
That’s why I’m taking on this challenge — to raise awareness, support vital research, and hopefully help move us closer to a future where fewer families and friends have to go through that pain.
As part of this challenge, I’m raising funds for the incredible research being done at Mater into the causes, prevention and treatment of cancer.
So I’m asking for your support. Whether it’s a donation, a share, or just some encouragement when I start complaining about training, it would genuinely mean a lot.
If you’re able to, please consider making a donation today.

Can’t wait to watch you voluntarily suffer for several hours in the name of charity. Truly inspirational behaviour. Seriously though — what you’re doing is incredible. Most people donate money; you decided to donate your entire cardiovascular system as well. Keep going when it gets tough. Every bit of pain is raising awareness, raising money, and proving you’re much tougher than the rest of us sitting comfortably on the couch. Legend
