Betty and her Mater Miracles!
Betty and her family have had a long association with the Mater Hospital. It all started in the 1970s when her late husband Jim McFarlane hung Winnie the Pooh wallpaper in the Mater Children's Ward for Sister Mary Dorothea Sheehan. In the early 1990s, her late Mother-in-Law Helen McFarlane was compassionately cared for in the Mater Adults. In the 2000s her Grandson Alexander had exceptional care during his extended stay in the Mater PICU under Dr Bruce Lister's leadership. Her second Grandson Joshua was also born there in 2003 and spent time in NICU.
In lieu of flowers, Betty has asked that family and friends donate to the Mater Foundation Little Miracles so they can continue to deliver vital care to the next generation.
