Brisbane event weather update

The severe weather events over the last few days have impacted many in our community; I hope you are safe and well.

The RACQ International Women's Day Fun Run, scheduled for this Sunday, features an on-road course alongside the Brisbane River and through the CBD.

We are currently working closely with the Brisbane City Council and event partners to assess any impacts to this year’s fun run course, including the start area and finisher’s village.

As soon as we have a clear understanding of any impacts to the event, we will communicate these with you by email and on our Facebook page. You can also read the latest FAQ’s.

Is the event going ahead given the severe weather in Brisbane?

We are working closely with the Brisbane City Council and our event management partners to assess any changes required to the event due to impact of the severe weather in Brisbane over the weekend.

Any changes will be communicated to all registered participants via email and will be posted on our Facebook page – so keep an eye out for updates.

I am no longer able to travel to Brisbane, what can I do?

We know many people have been affected by the severe weather over the past week and our thoughts are with everyone who has been impacted.

Should you no longer be able to travel to Brisbane to take part in the physical Fun Run, please continue supporting women with breast cancer! You can join over 2,500 people taking on Fun Run – Your Way by walking, jogging or running 5KM ‘Your Way’ in your local area on Sunday 6th March.

That’s right –plan a safe 5km route around your local area, deck yourself out in PINK and then take on the challenge anytime on Sunday 6 March.

You can post your progress and take part in the virtual experience through your fundraising dashboard – it will be live from 5AM AEST on Sunday 6 March.

Will the event still be safe considering the recent severe weather?

The safety of every participant is our highest priority. You can be assured that the event will be a safe experience. We are working closely with the Brisbane City Council and our event management partners to assess any changes required due to the impact of the severe weather in Brisbane over the weekend. Any changes will be communicated to all registered participants via email and will be posted on our Facebook page – so keep an eye out for updates.

If the event is cancelled, how will I be notified?

Email, SMS and Facebook. We will keep you updated in the lead up to the event by email and on our Facebook page. Should there be a significant change to the event or if it is cancelled, you will also receive an SMS.

I no longer want to take part; can I receive a refund?

We look forward to putting on a safe, fun event on Sunday 6 March.

In line with our terms and conditions, we are unable to offer refunds however, should you no longer wish to attend the Brisbane City event, we encourage you to continue fundraising and take on Fun Run – Your Way.

Simply plan a safe 5KM course in your local area, deck yourself out in PINK and then take on the challenge anytime on Sunday 6 March.
