Sunflower Sphere – A Lasting Legacy
In 2026, Kalbar Sunflowers is proud to launch a special community fundraiser in partnership with Mater Foundation.
Your $100 donation includes a permanently engraved name on the sculpture to honour a loved one, celebrate a survivor, or show your gratitude.
Your gift will directly support life-changing cancer care and equipment in our community and ensure your nominated name is permanently engraved as part of this lasting tribute. Name to appear on the page is the name that will be on the sculpture.
The sunflower sphere sculpture, to be installed at the Mater Cancer Care Centre Springfield, is a lasting symbol of gratitude and community that will welcome all who visit the Centre.
This initiative holds quiet a personal meaning for our family. Mater Cancer Care Centre Springfield provided care and support to Russell, and like so many local families, we are deeply grateful for the work they do across our region.
The Mater Sunflower Sphere

Supporting the purchase of a SPI-PHY cancer diagnostic machine
Permanent installation at the entrance of the Mater Cancer Care Centre

- In the "Leave a message (Optional)" section leave the name you would like engraved on the sphere, in the format "In memory of [Name]"
Each sunflower represents a life honoured, a story remembered, or a gesture of gratitude. The sunflower sculpture will be proudly displayed at the Kalbar Sunflower Festival before being installed at Mater Cancer Care Centre Springfield.
Production costs for the spheres have been generously covered by the team from Snap Fitness Redbank Plains, ensuring every $100 donation goes directly to supporting patients. Thank you also to Hayley from Scenic Rim Trophies in Boonah for providing the engraving on all the discs for the sunflowers free of charge.
