Why I Tri
COVID cancelled last year's Noosa Triathlon but I trained on and completed a full-length Triathlon at Forster NSW all by myself, which was extremely satisfying in what was such a difficult year for me and so many others around the world. Training for and completing the triathlon was about the only thing last year that I was able to successfully do.
What inspired me was the $5,850 in donations I received from all my supporters. When it got tough, when I was taking in saltwater instead of oxygen, when the hills got steeper, when the legs felt like jelly it was your generous donations that kept me going.
I would really like to thank everyone who supported me last year and know that your donations are going directly to Cancer Research at the Mater Foundation.
As I have personally been touched by 'The Big C' and knowing how much those funds could do in the hands of the wonderful people at the Mater Cancer Research Centre.
We have all travelled another lap around the sun since then and I've committed to being part of Team Smiddy to do my first lap around 2021 Noosa Triathlon.
That means in the last weekend of October 2021, I'll be taking on a 1500m swim, 40km ride and 10km run at the famous Noosa Triathlon.
This is something I can do to help people who have a much bigger challenge with the long, hard road to fight cancer.
As part of my challenge I'm aiming to raise a minimum of $3,000 to fund ground-breaking research at Mater into the causes, prevention and treatment of various types of cancer.
And this is where I need your help.
I would really appreciate your support by making a donation today.
