Team Tara (Tit'll be Alright)
Just like last year, I am walking in honour of my friend Tara Simmons who was diagnosed with stage 3 triple negative breast cancer. Tara died at just 34 years old, after her cancer metastasised.
I have set an ambitious goal to raise $2,500 if I reach this amount, I will do the walk wearing a giant boob costume. This years boob costume is even bigger than the one I wore last year!!
My motivation is to help raise funds for research. Research is expensive, and Mater are doing wonderful things investigating how aggressive cancer cells "jump" - this knowledge will help us understand and prevent cancer cells from metastasising (imagine that!).
See more of my story by clicking "Stories" on the home page, and then "Rebecca's story".
We’re raising funds to support women with breast cancer, providing things like counselling, wigs and mastectomy bras. As little as $58 can make a profound impact and take some of the stress off women with breast cancer and their families. Will you help us?
