Noosa Triathlon 2024

Thanks for visiting!

Hi, thanks for visiting my page. If you haven't heard of it, Smiling for Smiddy is a fundraising challenge you can attempt when you race in the Noosa triathlon. It's named after an athlete called Adam Smiddy, who died of a melanoma aged just 26. This year when I race I'm going to be the same age.
Adam was fit, young, and with the world at his feet. I think his story shows that every day is a gift and we should never take life for granted. It also reminds us that despite our modern medical advances, cancer like the medieval grim reaper can still take us without warning.

If you donate to this page you will fund the Mater Foundation's research into skin, ovarian, prostate, and breast cancers. They do quality research. I will also swim, bike, and run my heart out for you. Every development in medicine that we now rely upon was once a research project. Give a bit now and you might realise the cancer development that we need a day earlier.
Thank you for reading.

I am taking on Noosa Triathlon 2024!

I've committed to being part of Team Smiddy at the 2024 Noosa Triathlon.

That means in November, I'll be taking on an Olympic distance triathlon. That's a 1500m swim, 40km ride and 10km run! Yes, I'll be pushing my body to the limit.

Why am I taking on this challenge?

Because I'm committed to going beyond in the fight against cancer.

As part of my challenge I'm aiming to raise funds towards ground-breaking research at Mater into the causes, prevention and treatment of various types of cancer.

And this is where I need your help.

Will you support my fundraising by making a donation today?

Thank you to my Sponsors
