Owen was born unexpectedly on 10 July 2023 at 29+6 weeks, weighing in at a tiny 1.125 kg.
Without the help of the many neonatal doctors and nurses who attended him in the NCCU, he would not have survived. Owen received around the clock care in the NCCU for two months, living off nurtrients delivered via many tubes, and the the nurturing gentleness from the NCCU staff.
The NCCU was such a precious place where our grief and delight at having met Owen so much earlier than expected was understood and cared for. It was where we first held, fed, and bathed our darling son while beholding his delicate features.
Seeing Owen reach his first birthday with strength and healthy flourishing is a testament to firstly God's grace, but also the amazing work of NCCU at the Mater Hospital. It is our hope that any donations may help Mater continue to save and care for miracle babies.
