Participant Insurances 

As part of your event registration, two options are provided regarding mandated participant event insurance; either to  

• Indicate that you will hold your own Personal Accident and Public Liability Insurance, valid to the event date of 13 October 2024, through a provider such as Bicycle QLD or AusCycling; 

or 

• BQ Membership & Insurance – 1 day, 13 October 2024

The opt in BQ Membership 1-day Insurance (V-Insurance) includes Personal Accident, Income Protection, Public Liability & Professional Indemnity (3rd Party) Liability Insurance. 

This cover does not cover personal equipment or belongings including but not limited to bicycles, mobile phones, bike computers, smart watches, clothing, cycling accessories. 

Claim excess (V-Insurance): $50 excess applies to each injury. $Nil excess applies if the participant/member has cover under an Australian Private Health Fund. 

With regards to claims for Non-Medicare Medical Expenses under the BQ Membership Insurance, this covers insured persons for Non-Medicare medical expenses. The policy is for reimbursement only. The member must pay the account first then submit a claim for reimbursement.
