In Loving Memory of Jennifer Anne Laidlaw Cupples (née Thompson)

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Mum at the Mater Private in Brisbane on 6 March 2024, following a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Mum faced each moment with remarkable bravery, embracing her journey with unwavering courage that left us immensely proud.

In her final days, Mum was surrounded by the warmth and love of family and friends, embodying the determination and spirit that defined her in true Jen style. Your support during this difficult time has been a source of comfort, and we are grateful for the love that enveloped her.

Mum lived by the principles she held dear: standing by one's convictions, being candid when necessary, and, above all, expressing love and appreciation to those who held a special place in her heart. These values guided her through the challenging terrain of oncology and palliative care in recent months.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the extraordinary team of specialists who stood by Mum, offering their time, expertise, and unconditional support. Their dedication brought hope, safety, and love to Mum until her final moments. We cannot express enough how thankful we are for the remarkable individuals who shared this journey with us.

In honouring Mum's wishes, we kindly ask that, instead of flowers, donations be made to support palliative care research at the Mater. This gesture will contribute to the invaluable work of the Mater team, ensuring that others facing similar challenges may continue to benefit from the outstanding care and support Mum received.

As we remember and celebrate the beautiful life of Jennifer Anne Laidlaw Cupples, let us come together to honour her legacy by supporting the cause that meant so much to her.
