Start line

Start time

Ride start times are based on the speed category selected during registration.
Event formalities begin at 5:30am. Please arrive at least 15 minutes before your allocated start time to allow enough time to assemble and be ready to ride.

Speed group start times

5:45am – 35km+/hour 

5:50am – 25-35km/hour 

5:55am - <25km/hour

Please note: no riders will be permitted to start after 6:45am.

Getting to the start line

Ride in

We encourage riders to cycle to the South Brisbane start line via the surrounding bike paths and cycle lanes where possible.

Please note: direct access is restricted to registered riders only.

Drop-off

The recommended drop-off point is Stanley Place. From there, you can ride through the Cultural Centre Tunnel to the start area. Due to road closures, Stanley Place must be accessed via Montague Road. Vehicle access to the start line is not permitted.

Secure Parking

SW1 Car Park, South Brisbane

Queensland Cultural Centre

P1 Riverside Car Park, South Brisbane, will be open from 5am on event day. Parking will cost a flat all‑day rate of $17.00, payable on entry.

Train from the Gold Coast

A limited charter train will run from the Gold Coast to the start line, arriving ahead of the event. Tickets can be booked during registration or via your dashboard, with confirmation sent by email and SMS in the week leading up to event day.

On-course support

On-course rest stops

You’ll pass through two on-course rest stops at Eagleby and Coomera.

Take a breather, refuel with complimentary nutrition and water, and get ready for the next stretch. They’re also a great spot to regroup with your teammates before rolling on.

On-course assistance

If you need medical support during the ride, help is close by.

A dedicated medical team is on course and can be dispatched to your location. Course marshals, volunteers, traffic controllers and police are all able to contact medical support on your behalf.

Your rider plate also includes key contact numbers if you need assistance at any point along the route.

Hydration

Please bring a reusable water bottle. You’ll be able to refill at hydration stations at the start line, along the route at each rest stop, and at the Finishers’ Village.

The Finishers' Village

You’ve crossed the line — now it’s time to enjoy it. Kick back in the Finishers’ Village with your crew. Grab a coffee, refuel at the food trucks or toast your ride at the Bottlemart Beer Garden. You’ve earned every moment.

Food and refreshments

Refuel your way. From post-ride coffees to cold drinks and proper feeds, there’s plenty on offer to keep you going — all set against those iconic Gold Coast views.

Relax with family and friends

No rush. This part’s for sharing. Have your family and friends cheer you home, then celebrate together in the Finishers’ Village. Good rides are better with good company.

Getting home

After 100 km, your legs will want a break — so it’s best to plan your return journey ahead of time.

Pick-up

If you’re being collected, the recommended meeting point is Broadwater Parklands Car Park.

Train from Helensvale Station

You can catch the train back to South Brisbane from Helensvale Station. The station is approx. 12–13 km from the Finishers' Village, and around a 40–45-minute ride. 

Chartered bus

Tickets are available for a chartered bus service returning you and your bike to South Brisbane. You can book during registration or via your dashboard. Availability is limited, so secure your spot early.
If you’ve pre-purchased a ticket, you’ll receive confirmation by email and SMS in the week leading up to the event. Tickets can be collected from the Bus Information Tent in the Finishers’ Village.

Buses run from 10:30am – 1:30pm. Please arrive 30 minutes before your selected departure time to allow time to collect your ticket, drop off your bike and board the bus.

Rider insurance

Because Brisbane to Gold Coast is held on public roads and involves physical risk, Mater Foundation's position is that all participants are required to have personal accident insurance for safety and liability purposes.

During your BNEtoGC online registration, you had to select one of these options to complete your registration.

You purchased during your BNEtoGC online registration:

  • You purchased Bicycle Queensland Membership & Insurance – 1 day rate of $14.00 (includes GST), for 23 August 2026 only. This charge will appear on your tax receipt in addition to your registration fee.

NOT purchased during B2GC online registration:

  • You indicated that you hold your own Personal Accident and Public Liability Insurance or; you will hold your own insurance with a reputable provider valid to the event date of 23 August 2026.

If you did NOT purchase insurance during your online registration and still require Insurance, please read the information below.

Insurance can be purchased from your participant dashboard. You will need to log in to your profile here and then select the Merchandise and Add-ons tab.

Bicycle Queensland membership insurance (V-Insurance) – summary

The BQ Membership Insurance (V-Insurance) includes Personal Accident, Income Protection, Public Liability & Professional Indemnity (3rd Party) Liability Insurance.

This cover does not cover personal equipment or belongings including but not limited to bicycles, mobile phones, bike computers, smart watches, clothing, cycling accessories.

Claim excess (V-Insurance): $50 excess applies to each injury. $Nil excess applies if the participant/member has cover under an Australian Private Health Fund.

With regards to claims for Non-Medicare Medical Expenses under the Bicycle Queensland Membership Insurance, this covers insured persons for Non-Medicare medical expenses. The policy is for reimbursement only. The member must pay the account first then submit a claim for reimbursement.

We will post your BNEtoGC Rider Kit directly to the address you provided when you registered.

Postage of Rider Kits is expected to commence from mid‑June. Please allow 4–5 weeks from this time for delivery. 

Rider Kit includes:

  • Official BNEtoGC Welcome Letter.
  • Rider Plate & matching Helmet Sticker. Please ensure both are visible for the duration of your ride for identification purposes. Secure your rider plate to your bike and the helmet sticker to your helmet.
  • Twist ties. Please use these to secure you Rider Plate to your bike.
